- In 2008, 41.5% of those committed from Franklin County courts did not have a high school diploma or GED and 39.1% were unemployed. Nearly half of those committed had a juvenile record (46.3%). Drug abuse (75.5%) in the past 6 months was more common than alcohol abuse (44.4%).
- In 2010, blacks represented 44.0% of those committed to state prison facilities from the Franklin County court system, although they comprised only 19.3% of the population of Franklin County.
