- The population of the Columbus MSA increased by 223,695 people (13.9%) between 2000 and 2010.
- Between 2000 and 2010, all eight counties in the Columbus MSA experienced population growth, with Delaware County experiencing the greatest percentage (58.4%) growth over the period.
- Between 2000 and 2009, Delaware (37,500), Fairfield (13,749), and Licking (6,038) counties experienced net population increases through in-migration of 6,000 or more persons, whereas Union (4,161), Morrow (1,560), Pickaway (671), and Madison (532) counties had modest net gains through migration. Franklin County experienced net out-migration of 39,103 during the period.
