- Based on median age, the Columbus population in 2010 was younger than the populations of Franklin County, Ohio, and the United States. Against these three comparison areas, Columbus also has a greater percentage of persons under age 10 (14.3%), between ages 18 and 24 (13.6%), and between ages 25 and 44 (32.7%).
- The population of Franklin County had been aging until 2008 before its median age dropped 1.4 years to 33.2 in 2009. In 2010 the median age rose slightly to 33.5.
