The following are key points from the data in the tables and graphs found on the “Data” tab. The “Sources and Notes” tab provides additional information about the data.
- In eight out of the nine Franklin County districts analyzed, graduation rates were lower for African American students than for white students in the 2009–2010 school year. Ohio Reading Graduation Test passage rates were lower for African American students than for white students in all nine districts.
- In seven out of the nine Franklin County school districts analyzed, female students had higher graduation rates than did male students in the 2009–2010 school year. Female students had higher Reading Ohio Graduation Test passage rates than male students in all but one of the nine school districts. Male students had higher Math OGT scores in two of the nine districts.
- Whites and Asians generally performed better than African Americans and Hispanics on the reading and math OGT exams in 2009–2010, though the extent of this difference varied by school district.
