The following are key points from the data in the tables and graphs found on the “Data” tab. The “Sources and Notes” tab provides additional information about the data.

  • In the 2010–2011 school year, students in Columbus City Schools had passage rates of 72.4%, 63.8%, and 51.2% on the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT) for reading, math, and science, respectively, compared with 86.3%, 81.0%, and 73.0% for students statewide.
  • In Franklin County, 35 schools surpassed the state average in reading OGT passage rates, 29 schools surpassed the state average for math, and 30 surpassed the state average for science.
  • One Columbus City high school (Columbus Alternative) had OGT passage rates above 90% for reading and math. Three Columbus City high schools (Columbus Alternative, Centennial, and Eastmoor) had OGT passage rates of 90% or greater in reading.
  • Five Columbus City high schools (Brookhaven, Independence, South, Columbus Global Academy, and Alum Crest) had passage rates below 70% for reading, math, and science.
  • Dublin Jerome High School had the highest reading OGT passage rate (99.4%) and the highest science OGT passage rate (98.1%) in Franklin County. Reynoldsburg High School eSTEM had the highest math OGT passage rates (98.3%).
