Explanations and Caveats:
- The American Community Survey (ACS) is conducted annually by the U.S. Census Bureau and is intended to replace the Census Long Form in 2010. It is intended only as an estimate of the population rather than a definitive count. The ACS surveys a sample of the household population and does not include people living in group quarters, such as college dormitories, hospitals, prisons, and other institutions.
